Committees

Standing Committees typically meet once per month unless urgent matters require additional action by the committee. All committees report to the Executive Director of Operations for approvals of events, fundraising, and expenditures to ensure activities are aligned to the mission and vision of ICA and all policies and procedures are followed. Committees should be prepared to give a summary report and treasurers report to the Governing Board at quarterly meetings.
While attendance and input at committee meetings will be open to all ICA families, only members in good standing (having met all requirements set forth in the bylaws of each committee) will be voting members of said committee.
Each standing committee will have a board of advisors to keep it organized and focused on the mission. Each committee board will consist of a Chair, VIce-Chair, Secretary, & Treasurer.  Activity chairs may be appointed at the discretion of the Committee Board, but will be directed by and report to the overall committee.  Boards will be elected at the final meeting of each school year (organizational meeting) and help the committees oversee an annual calendar of events, meetings, and activity goals annually (planning meeting) at the beginning of each year.
Committees will consist of parents, community members, faculty & staff. Decisions made by each committee are not final until approved by the Executive Director of Operations to ensure they are in alignment with the mission, and funding is available.
Currently there are four standing committees in which parents can serve to help advance the mission of our school:
  • PTO (Parent-Teacher Organization)
  • SAC (School Advisory Council)
  • Marketing/Fundraising Committee
  • Agricultural Committee
We will expand in the Fall of 2022/23 to add the following two committees:
  • Outdoor Education Committee
  • Athletics Committee
